History
The Limes dates back to 1860s – The original farmhouse building with a lime wash front section encompassing the listed building section.
The property has been in the possession of Swindon Borough Council for over 80 years. Previously use was a children’s home and school. In the late 60’s the council extended to the property to what is there now. The council used the property as as Youth Assessment Centre and Social Services.
William Arthur Property purchased the property in May 2020. The Limes redevelopment offers a unique opportunity to improve and enhance the site whilst protecting the special inherent features of the building and surrounding areas.
Location
The Limes site is located within the urban area of Swindon, less than 2 miles north of the town centre.
Stratton is a well established residential area, with a good secondary school at its heart.
The area offers good rental and sale prospects for the development.
The Limes is located on Green Lane which has Cottages dating back to the 1700s.
Proposed Plans
We want to embrace the land, the house and not over develop the site. We’re looking to demolish the whole 60’s addition to make room for 3 houses. We plan on Sympathetically restoring the main building into 2500 sql family home.
The site will have a total of 5 New Builds and 1 restoration of a grade 2 listed farmhouse.
